ॐ श्री गुरवे नमः ॥ May we all be grateful and remember the good things Sri K. Pattabhi Jois did for the world by teaching yoga. He played an important role deeply shaping the way yoga is practiced around the world today.
The controversy surrounding his inappropriate touching of some students is unfortunate and regrettable, and I'm truly sorry to those whom were adversely affected by this. No one deserves to be mistreated sexually or otherwise. I am sorry that at the time I didn't have the strength of character to confront the situation.
Yoga, Christianity, Buddhism, Islam and other religions teach forgiveness. Pattabhi Jois was wrong in those actions, but as the famous saying goes, "Let him/her who is free from sin cast the first stone."
When we can understand the universal challenges of overcoming the compulsion that everyone of us encounters, and from that understanding, extend compassion to both parties of a wrong action - then we have the Love necessary for true healing and transformation.
"Hate the sin not the sinner" for all souls are made in the image and likeness of the same divinity, all souls are in truth Buddha.
Today according to the Indian lunar calendar is Pattabhi Jois' 10 year passing anniversary.
